University Housing Assistant
SUMMARY OF POSITION
University Housing Office Assistants provide front-line customer service and administrative support for University Housing which includes Business Services, Housing Administration, Housing Operations, Living Learning Communities, Residential Life, and Residential Camps and Conference Services. The office assistant will provide support as the first point of contact via phone, email, and greeting in-person guests. Other duties include providing direction to students and visitors, data entry, and other general office duties as assigned. Due to the nature of the position, remote work is not available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be a current UT Dallas student in good standing
· Able to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and proper phone etiquette
· Punctual and dependable
· High levels of professionalism, customer service, and communication skills (written and verbal)
· High attention to detail
· General computer knowledge; Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word), CometSpace (Box)
· Eager and ready to learn new skills and software quickly
· Adaptable to changing priorities and information
· Able to work 10-20 hours per week during the academic terms including fall break, winter break, spring break, and summer
· 3.0 GPA is required and must be maintained throughout employment
· Must pass a criminal background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience living on-campus
· Available to work for a full academic year (including summer) or longer
COMMENTS
The position reports to a Housing Administration Assistant for direct supervision. Job performance is evaluated on a semesterly basis and continued employment is contingent upon meeting expectations and performance. The University Housing office is open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located here.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
This position would be for the Spring 2026 term. We are currently looking for applicants who are preferably available Monday, Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
