Living Learning Assistant
Living Learning Communities defines the Living Learning Assistant (LLA) position as a part-time, non-benefit eligible role for students currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Dallas as a student, registered for classes, and possessing a minimum 3.0 GPA. The role of the LLA is to engage LLC students in community-specific activities, assist with administrative duties, and serve as a community resource for academic and campus connections.
Responsibilities
- Plan & facilitate in-person and virtual events, including community-specific events
- Assist students with event sign-in or other paperwork such as release forms
- Assist coordinators with faculty and special guests at events
- Assist in post-event tasks including data entry and image uploading
- Meet weekly with LLC team members for event planning
- Attend student employee training sessions in the Spring (required training sessions may occur prior to the start of each semester as well as Professional Development trainings during the semester)
- Assemble marketing materials for events and meetings including creating and editing audio, video, and promotional images
- Create, post, and take down marketing in the residence halls
- Assist in event set up and take down
- Represent the LLC at recruiting events
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Students in this role can expect to work up to 10 hours per week
Qualifications
- Previous LLC Experience (as a resident or previous LLA) is preferred
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel is preferred
- Marketing creation software experience such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva preferred
- Ability to navigate multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Have great attention to detail and accuracy, and possess great communication skills
- Available to work after-hour events and some weekend events throughout the year
- Virtual and/or on-campus work for administrative tasks may be offered to which access to high-speed internet is required.
- *The LLA position is open for applicants who are in their sophomore year up to the last semester of senior year. First-year and graduate students need not apply.
Requirements
- Must be a UT Dallas student enrolled for classes with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application and throughout tenure as an LLA
- Submit all application documentation requirements (Resume and one Reference Letter)
- LLA position responsibilities must take first priority during office hours
- All off-campus employment must have prior approval from supervisor
- Commitment to a full academic year 2026-2027 (August - May) pending evaluation
- Eligibility for employment in the United States and submission of information for a background check
