Jonsson Ambassador

Jonsson Ambassadors are students who represent the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science in various capacities, including recruitment, outreach, and student support.  

• Responsibilities:
  • Conduct tours of the Jonsson School (ECS) labs and spaces to prospective students, parents, and special groups.
  • Participate in at least one tour per week and two special visit events per semester.
  • Meet one-on-one with visitors. 
  • Represent the Jonsson School at outreach and recruitment events.
  • Participate in student panels.
  • Manages social media pages and creates content. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Requirements:
  • Commitment to at least three semesters.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the Jonsson School and UT Dallas.
  • Work occasional Saturdays for prospective and admitted student events.

• Eligibility:
  • Must be in academic good standing.
  • Must be an ECS major.
  • Graduate student applicants are welcome--undergraduate experience at UT Dallas strongly preferred. 
• Expectations:
  • Attend training sessions and meetings.
  • Lead tours of engineering and computer science facilities.
  • Participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Follow up with prospective and newly admitted students.
