Student Assistant for EPICS Program

UTDesign is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to support the EPICS Program Director in the administration and promotion of the UTDesign EPICS program. This position offers a dynamic mix of creative, technical, and organizational responsibilities, ideal for students interested in communications, marketing, design, or program coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Social Media

  • Write and schedule engaging posts for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook.
  • Monitor engagement and suggest strategies to grow our online presence.
  • Capture and edit photos/videos at events for promotional use.

Marketing & Communications

  • Design and update marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, digital graphics.
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote EPICS events and initiatives
  • Draft newsletters and email communications for internal and external stakeholders

Website Management

  • Update website content regularly to reflect current events and program highlights.
  • Collaborate on redesigning and improvement of the website’s layout, navigation, and visual appeal.

Administrative Support

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of student participation and project details.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating program events and workshops.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the programmatic calendar.

Event Support

  • Help plan and execute EPICS related events.
  • Prepare event materials and assist with setup and logistics.

Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at UT Dallas.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.

Preferred:

  • Majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge of website CMS (WordPress).
  • Experience with administrative support.
  • Photography or video editing experience is a plus.
